As an informed and involved citizen, we’re sure you know that on January 25, 2023 the Illinois Times, Springfield Business Journal, Midwest Family Broadcasting and the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce hosted a debate for city of Springfield mayoral candidates between James Langfelder and Misty Buscher and moderated by Bernie Schoenburg.
But what you may not have known is that this was not the candidates’ first joint appearance at a public forum.
That honor goes to the MacArthur Boulevard Association which hosted the candidates on January 12 at South Side Christian Church. Their remarks were thoughtful and polite and their presence was not at all surprising given that the MacArthur Boulevard Association’s monthly meetings are always well attended by state, county and municipal officials.
